Evernote
has added new features to its iPad handwriting application, Penultimate, and
turned it into a free app. It was earlier priced at $0.99. The user interface
too has received a revolution. The update brings greater integration between
the two apps, greater convenience and the ability to sync and search content
across the two apps.
Talking
about the update in a blog post, Evernote said that it has made the ink within
the app, sharper, smoother and more natural for jotting and sketching. It has
also made the user interface cleaner and clutter-free, and the important
functions are now more accessible, while the less-used ones have been put in a
menu.
Although,
Evernote had introduced the ability to share Penultimate notes with Evernote
accounts, last year, it has now tightly incorporated the experience with
Penultimate's core features. Following the move, the app now offers users the
option to connect Penultimate with their Evernote account and sync notebook
data across all Evernote apps including desktop apps. Users can now create
different Penultimate notebooks mapped to individual notes. It has also added
the ability to search through hand written notes created with Penultimate.
However, search takes place on Evernote servers so users would experience a
slight delay in getting results Talking about the update in a blog post,

In
addition the completely new look, Evernote Hello has added more ways to
consider people, including add manually, add from calendar, business card
scanning for Premium members and Hello Connect, which allows users to exchange
contact info with groups of Evernote Hello users of almost any size.
Switching
gears to the iPad, Evernote is introducing version 4.0 of the popular digital
handwriting app Penultimate, adding new Evernote features with a refreshed user
interface and an attractive new price of absolutely nothing.
No,
we're not referring to a stripped-down version of Penultimate like all of its
other apps, Evernote has made the app free, while continuing to offer the same
pen and paper knowledge that made it a best-selling app in the first place.
While
Evernote itself has been a sharing option in Penultimate for some time, the
service is now a core part of the app, also bringing its powerful search
features and the ability to access your notes from universally thanks to
syncing with Evernote.
